Title: IT Tech Support

Location: Pointe-Claire, QC

 

Top Aces is in search of an IT Technical Support professional with strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills to become an integral part of our Information Technology team.  The individual will be responsible for end-user support, building, maintaining and troubleshooting our systems, networks, peripherals, telecommunications (wired/wireless) as well as various applications and access controls.

 

Responsabilities :

 

  • Act as the first line of support to end-users, responding to requests for assistance in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Ensure that all service tasks scheduled and unscheduled are performed promptly, and incidents are managed accordingly
  • Maintain and update a work order and/or work project system which includes regular status reports
  • Maintain, and manage the distribution and tracking of IT inventory i.e. software, hardware, licenses and recommend hardware/software purchases
  • Ensure that all server or application change or upgrade requests are escalated for approval
  • Research and propose solutions that fit within the framework of the company
  • Act as the "Super User" for corporate application software including; Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, AMS, Lotus and other internal applications
  • Perform basic phone system administration and, coordinate with outside vendors to resolve complex problems as required
  • Create and implement PC/Laptop images to meet the changing corporate environment and streamline the build process.
  • Support corporate email clients.  (Lotus Notes and Outlook).
  • Perform email client and BES/BIS integration
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance

 

  

Qualifications:

 

  • 3 - 6 years in a Help Desk or support role, with 100+ users within a  LAN/WAN environment
  • College degree or equivalent
  • Proficiency in:

      - Microsoft Windows XP, Win7

      - Microsoft Office 2003/07 Professional and/or other desktop applications

      - .ASP & .NET programming

      - SharePoint WSS3 & MOSS

      - Networking & TCP/IP protocols

      - Lotus Notes & MS Outlook

  • A solid understanding of:

       - IP telephone systems

       - Wireless communications (cellular phone, blackberries and AP's)

       - Security. i.e., group policies, permissions, and wireless devices

  • An excellent troubleshooting ability, a keen interest in technology and strong organizational skills are essential
  • A willingness to provide support after regular business hours as required
  • An ability to work independently and within a fast-paced environment is also a requirement
  • Microsoft Certification,  A+ and/or Network Plus Certified, or Programming/scripting experience would all be assets
